Forró Dancing

Forró is a type of music which was once passé and is now back in fashion. It’s performed by a small band led by an accordion player. Forró is popular to dance to, especially in the Northeast, but even as far south as Rio de Janeiro state. There is a widespread story that the name originated in WWII when U.S. servicemen were stationed in the Northeast and comes from the English words “for all”. Whether or not that’s true, after you’re done teaching English you might want to head out and learn to dance forró! (Guys, the women love it!)
